Our Story

A café rooted in good company

What began as a coffee cart beneath an old willow tree has grown into a gathering place for the whole neighbourhood.

How it began

From a cart to a corner home

In 2014, founders Elena and James Moreau parked a little green coffee cart under the willow on Willow Lane. Neighbours came for espresso and stayed for conversation — and soon the cart wasn't big enough.

Two years later we opened our doors in the old bookbinder's shop across the street, keeping the creaky floorboards, tall windows and that same unhurried spirit.

“We wanted a place where nobody is rushed out the door.” — Elena

What we believe

Our values

i.

Craft over speed

Every cup is dialled in, every pastry hand-shaped. Good things are worth a few extra minutes.

ii.

Honest sourcing

We buy directly from small roasters, tea gardens and local farms we know by name.

iii.

Room to linger

Soft music, natural light and comfortable chairs — a calm space for reading, working or catching up.

Cozy seating area with plants and natural light

The atmosphere

Like a living room, only better coffee

Mismatched armchairs, a shelf of well-loved books and plants climbing toward the skylight. Mornings are bright and buzzy; afternoons slow into quiet reading hours.

We host poetry nights, latte art workshops and a Sunday knitting circle — all are welcome.
